Samantha Janes, MA PLPC

Sam Janes is a counselor at The Karis House, currently seeing clients at both offices in U-City, West County, and virtually. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Southeastern University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.

Sam believes that coming to counseling is a brave and meaningful step, and she is honored to walk alongside clients as they invest in their own growth and healing. Her approach is person-centered, trauma informed, and very intentionally relational. Sam utilizes narrative style counseling where the goal is to create a safe space where clients can explore and make meaning of their story. She also helps clients gain insight into their emotions and behaviors and develop intentional strategies while paving the way toward their future.

Sam can also incorporate a faith-based perspective into counseling for clients who are interested, integrating values and spiritual considerations in a way that is respectful and supportive. 

As a provisionally-licensed counselor, Sam brings openness and dedication to learning, supported by close supervision from Karis House clinical director Amy Mattia, LPC, to best serve and support her clients. She looks forward to walking alongside clients in their journey toward growth and healing.
