Samantha Janes

Counseling Intern

Sam Janes is a counseling intern at The Karis House. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Southeastern University and is currently completing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.

Sam believes that coming to counseling is a brave and meaningful step, and she is honored to walk alongside clients as they invest in their own growth and healing. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. She strives to create a safe space where clients can explore and make meaning of their story. She also helps clients gain insight into their emotions and behaviors and develop strategies to navigate challenges such as stress, anxiety, and life transitions, while paving the way toward their future.

Sam can also incorporate a faith-based perspective into counseling for clients who are interested, integrating values and spiritual considerations in a way that is respectful and supportive.

As a counseling intern, Sam brings openness and dedication to learning, supported by close supervision from Hilary Spears, LPC, to best serve and support her clients. She looks forward to walking alongside clients in their journey toward growth and healing.
